Data science is an interdisciplinary field that uses scientific methods, processes, algorithms, and systems to extract knowledge and insights from many structural and unstructured data. Data Science is one of the thrust areas identified by AICTE. Data Sciences will equip learners and researchers with the skills to lead the technological revolution rapidly changing the way business and policy is developed.

 

Intelligent Computing is the heart of data science and consists of computational methodologies that mimic nature-inspired processes to address real-world complex problems. It consists of various areas including artificial neural networks, evolutionary computation, genetic algorithms, artificial immune systems, fuzzy logic, swarm intelligence, artificial life, virtual worlds, and hybrid methodologies.

 

Data science and intelligent computing is a blend of data interference, algorithmic development, and technology to solve analytically complex problems. Companies in India and across the world are looking to include more data scientists in their team to analyze information and help leaders make an informed business decision in this crisis. In fact, despite COVID-19, there are many companies in the news, which shared their hiring interest to work on data science and intelligent computing to gain a competitive edge among their competitors.  Nowadays Data Science and intelligent computing is playing major in areas like Health care, agriculture, finance, entertainment, etc. some of the marketing industries reported delivering analytics projects 70% faster using data sciences and intelligent computing which corresponded with a 25% growth in revenue over six months. Some health care agencies reported being able to detect anomalies in behaviors where claims were made against healthcare professionals, and ultimately claimed savings of $561 million across the department by utilizing advanced data analytics. It also creates 2.3 million jobs across the globe. Some of the research areas in data science and intelligent computing are scalable data analysis and learning, dimension reduction, data curation, and integration and optimization, data modeling, etc.

EC-DSIC-2023 Objective:

 

EC-DSIC-2023 aims to provide a premier online forum that brings together students, teachers, researchers, industry practitioners, as well as potential users in fields of engineering and sciences for discussion and exchange of ideas on the latest theoretical and practical developments in Data Science and Intelligent Computing as well as on the best practices for a wide range of applications. The E-conference will provide a platform to the authors and attendees for collaborations and networking among universities and institutions from India and abroad for promoting research and trending technologies. The aim of this conference is to promote basic and advanced research into applied investigation and convert applied investigation into the practice.  This conference will also create awareness about the importance of basic research in the fields of Data Science and Intelligent Computing. The conference will provide the flavor of Expert talks and lectures by eminent national and international speakers from different areas & panel discussions by industry people. The scope of the conference includes all areas and applications of Data Science and Intelligent Computing. Articles in this conference may address opportunities and applications of data science and intelligent computing in the fields of Engineering and Sciences. It also deals with industrial case studies, experimental and theoretical work, and application to the real world. Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET) has a culture of inculcating research by encouragement and nurturing.
